Guess who's back...

Oh my GOD.  My man Shady kills Drake's "Over" and Lloyd Banks's "Beamer Benz or Bentley" in this "Despicable" freestyle.

Download the hottness here.

Eminem's Recovery will grace the music scene on June 22nd, according to his website.  The album (which was set to drop in 2009 and be called Relapse 2), Em claims, has a totally different sound than Relapse and "...deserves its own title."

We all know how I feel about Marshall (if you don't, you can recap that here), and while Relapse has indeed grown on me after my initial doubts (I truly believe that all the fundamentals were there, but didn't necessarily come together on every track...also that weird Triumph the Comic Dog voice thing didn't cut it for me), I'm completely stoked to see what he's got up his sleeve next.

Especially after hearing this bomb-ass freestyle.

Hold on, Rusko

Stumbled upon this single today from my beloved dubby hero Rusko (with a lil remix help from DnB master Sub Focus).  Check out "Hold On" featuring Amber Coffman.  It's a super dope super soaker of a delicious dubby jam.

You can get the free download from RCRDLBL here:
Rusko - Hold On (feat. Amber Coffman) (Sub Focus Remix): "Rusko - Hold On (feat. Amber Coffman) (Sub Focus Remix)"

The original track is rather hot, but is almost a bit wishywashy, and too borderline trance. Gimme dat wobble! Sub Focus definitely takes the beat to a new level of wompgasm.

RCRDLBL is hailing Rusko as the potential first breakout dub5tep artist on the eve of the release of his solo LP O.M.G.! (which is set to drop May 4th) due to collaborations with such *mainstream artists as Gucci Mane.  I'm not sure how I feel about this...to me, the dub community is something sacred.  As much as I'd love for any of my favorites (Caspa, Rusko, Nero, Skream, DatsiK, etc.) to break out and start gettin' dat real money...can we really bear to have them beaten to death by the general public?  More importantly, is the world READY for the orgasmically, cosmically incredible phenomenon that is dubstep?

I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

*The use of "mainstream" here by NO means is meant to de-legitimize my man Gucci, or any other artists

Ciara...good lord.

Not much more I can say about Ciara's new video, "Ride" (feat. Ludacris).  The girl is HOT.  How does she even move like that?!  She's definitely my newest beach bod inspiration and will be added to the suite's Girl Crush list immediately upon my return.

Thanks to my girl @princessmiaaaa for posting this gem.

Also, could not dig the outfits more.  Fresh Braves fitted (my town baby) paired with some dope kicks, killer half glove action, and a kickass leotard that makes her look like someone even Halle Berry as Catwoman would envy.

"I market it so good, they can't wait to try me..." -Ciara (feat. Ludacris), "Ride"

Pu-Tang Clan knows how to party

"And a Pu-Tang song was on..."

I plugged the Pu-Tang dudes a couple of days ago.  In retrospect (and in order to spare you searching through near-misses such as the single "If These Balls Could Talk), I feel the need to mention my favorite PTC song.

"Party," off of PTC's latest album, If These Balls Could Talk, takes a sample from the most annoying single of the past year, Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA," and makes it pure gold.

You can download the whole album, and all of PTC's other tuneage for free here, or just the "Party" mp3 here.

Miley Cyrus has never heard a Jay-Z song.

Fireflies Dubstep

While I've always (admittedly and emburrassingly) been a huge fan of Owl City's Fireflies for its flawless production and The Postal Service-reminiscent vocals, Etubbs and Trillbass's dubstep remix is, to quote my girl Kirb, "...the best thing to happen to this song."

Enjoy.

And feel free to download here.

Dubtastic Saturday: Boom 'N Pow

Pressed for time, but it is #DubtasticSaturday.

Enjoy Boom 'N Pow by Akira Kiteshi.  It may not be new, but it's dope as hell.  Get wobbly.  Peace out cyberspace, I'ma get my tan on.

Fuck wit da Pu-Tang Clan

12 long hours of rain, Jersey traffic jams/general stank, and plenty of dope tuneage later, I have arrived in the great state of VA.  Before I head to the beach to partake in various forms of debauchery, including but not limited to the infamous beer dragon and undoubtedly an appearance by my party alter-ego Shaniqua, check these dudes out.

The Pu-Tang Clan, a rap group of some nasty-ass boys with the dirtiest rhymes to hit the waves in years was "formed to combat the evils of the post-good rap era," and they do so with hilarity, crassness, and surprisingly solid production.  Warning: not for those who don't appreciate free use of sexual slang and graphic imagery.

You can download everything on their site

The beer dragon.  Bask in the glory.

SOTD: Awesome (feat. The Cool Kids)-The Bloody Beetroots

Thanks to Ben for this gem.  Awesome is...well, awesome.  And the simple fact that The Bloody Beetroots were at WMC 2010/Ultra in Miami this year makes listening to this jam so much sweeter, even if we were all too busy rolling around the super ravey tents to see them.

Ellie Goulding is my newest girl crush.

No homo, but the girl can do no wrong and remixes like a dream.  Here are some of my favorites, originals and otherwise.  Likely more to come.

^^ The production on this version is by far my favorite, vs. the way it's done with the official release and video.

In short, everyone and their creepy above-garage tenant they found on craigslist has remixed Ellie Goulding.  Fortunately, some have achieved pure greatness, even if the only other thing they happened to do that day was talk shit to 6th graders with a voice changer on Xbox Live.

Class of 2012...senior spring?

This just in!  Productivity in the Mezz hits an all-time high.

Dublife

Dubbies wobble but they won't fall down.

Since I didn't get a chance to post on #DubtasticSaturday, here's some womp for your comp.

Yeah, you read it right...the man, the mau5, the legend is now dabbling in the art of the dub.  I got to hear some live at this year's Ultra Music Festival in Miami and almost spontaneously combusted with joy.

RemixNation

It's #DroolworthyTuesday, time for some dope ass remixes (with a mashup here n dere) to revamp your life and your library.

Return of the Mack...part deux

Once again, I've returned from a blog hiatus.  Apathy has given way to desperation and procrastination, not to mention the glorious discovery of some pretty dope new tuneage that must be shared with the world.  Keep an eye out for new and old favorites, hip-hop, techno, dubby, ma5hups, metal, and whatever else happens to strike my fancy.

Also, take a peek into my twerld.  Why not?
